Word Of LifeWhy are people willing to renounce all to follow him and even die in his service? How is it that one who died the death of a criminal could be worshiped today by hundreds of millions? How is it plausible that two thousand years after his death his life would be avidly studied and worshipers would address their prayers to him?

We just heard yesterday that Amy’s baby’s heart stopped beating yesterday. They are believing for a miracle and we are believing and praying with them. Please join us in prayer to see God move on behalf of baby Livi.

4th of JulyTo most people Independence Day is associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, picnics, baseball games, and other various events that celebrate the history of the United States. It’s a day for celebration because of the freedom that we as Americans have living in the “land of the free.”

However to some, Independence Day is just another day, another 24 hours they are held captive and forced into doing things they don’t want to do.

ATC

I just had to post this video. This was this morning at the Awakening Teen Camp at IHOP KC. I love seeing teenagers getting saved and set free from drugs and sexual addictions and realizing who they are in Christ.

Missouri Storms

stormOne of the many things I love about living in Kansas City are the storms. The clouds and lightning and motion of them are so intense that it draws people to them like bugs to a bug zapper. When a storm is approaching I find myself acting like a kid in a candy store, completely in awe of how God can paint such a moving work of art time and time again, and each time totally recreate that sense of awe in me.

Judgment
Most of the time when people think of judgment and more specifically “God’s judgment”, they think of something that is very scary, dark, end of the worldish, destruction, etc. For most of my life my view of Jesus coming and judging the earth was very similar, focusing on the negative aspects of judgment.

However, a judge is not a bad person or a mean, angry person. When we think of a judge in a court of law, he is not there in that court solely so that he can execute punishments. He doesn’t find fulfillment doling out punishments left and right, keeping the ever-so-creepy grin on his face while people receive the hard end of a hammer. The judge is there to make sure the law is upheld. If the law is upheld by a person then a judgment is administered in favor of that person. It is only when the law is broken that a judgment has negative consequences, and rightly so. It is completely right and just when someone who murders or rapes someone receives a negative judgment.

We have been studying, playing and singing through Psalm 50 (one of the 12 end-time Psalms of Asaph) with our worship team. It is so exciting and exhilarating to sing about the return of Jesus to earth to setup His kingdom in Zion and rule and reign on the earth with Him. Today we just went through Ps. 50:4-6 introducing the Judge and what will happen upon His return.

June Update

I thought it was about time for another post, being that we’re at the end of June and we’re about to embarq on a 40-day fast. I’m not sure what exactly that means for my blogging habits, but time will tell.

Since it has been a few more than a few days since the last post, I thought I would just give a little update:

Noah TractorI won’t make this a long entry. Only because every time I begin to write something for this blog I get this feeling of “take a deep breath, this is going to take a while.” And I do not like spending hours on one post, which has sometimes happened, and basically that is why there was such a huge gap for a while between posts. I just decided if blogging is going to take me that long for each post, I don’t have time for that in my schedule. Especially as my schedule was a little crazy for a while. It is still intense now, but manageable.

So anyways, getting back to the drive. I finished the set I lead at 8pm and walk out of the prayer room doors and it smells like rain. I still have a few things to take care of so I start driving around getting those things done and it starts pouring rain. At this point I start to think to myself “oh, great… what a great way to start a trip” (thinking that rain was the worst it could get).

David is in a play!

tillySo David is in a play. We will be heading there in about 30 minutes. I’ll post later with an update on the play and the part David had in it.

Update: So the play was incredible, ranging from 5 year olds to 17 year olds. Most of the main actors/actresses were older. It had many, including myself, smiling, laughing and brought to tears with this moving story.

Daniel Academy

tdaSo we were at the Daniel Academy today. We were being interviewed by the Principle of the school, which seemed a little intimidating at first, but turned out to be very social and laid back. It was very enjoyable.

The Daniel Academy is basically a school run by IHOPers for grades K-12. Here is their description:
